An all-round skilled athlete, Chris represented his county, Derbyshire, at football, cricket and golf.
He started his football career at Manchester City Football Club where Chris' abuse began when he was 9 years old. In 1984, aged 12, Chris moved to Crewe Alexandra, as did his abuser. By 16 years of age, Chris had become disillusioned and turned away from football. He applied his talents to golf and became a PGA professional. He currently works as a funeral director in the Peak District.
Chris appeared on the Victoria Derbyshire Show on the BBC in November 2016 alongside other former players talking for the first time about their abuse.
